Apryle Horbal

Apryle received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude in Biological Basis of Behavior in 2007 from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She then qualified with her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD), also from the University of Pennsylvania, in 2011 and went on to perform an internship in large animal medicine, surgery, and ambulatory practice at Texas A&M University’s Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, USA. Apryle has been a resident and post-graduate research assistant in equine dentistry at the University of Edinburgh since 2013. She is currently researching the development and clinical significance of cemental defects in equine maxillary cheek teeth infundibulae in pursuit of an MPhil. She also plans to achieve EVDC-Equine diplomate status in several years following completion of her residency in order to pursue specialty practice in advanced equine dentistry and to continue training veterinary students in a university setting. Additionally, Apryle has an interest in the training of veterinary practitioners in developing countries, particularly to improve dental care and nutrition for working equids.
